The Event
What will the VBS be teaching? The VBS Theme is “Keepers of the Kingdom - Standing Strong in Today’s Battle for Truth: Be Strong in the Lord.” We will spend this week focusing on how God has equipped us to stand strong in His mighty power. Day 1 – Absolute truth is true for all people, all times and all circumstances and building a Biblical worldview. Day 2 – Put on what is right (Jesus’ righteousness) then do what is right. Day 3 – Guard against false teachings and be ready to give an answer for the hope that is in you.
What activities will they be involved in? Your child will have so much fun as they travel from station to station learning more about God and His plan for them. They will begin the day with our volunteers singing and learning at our Opening Assembly. Then, they will rotate through all of our stations: Games and Snacks, Singing and Cool contests, Missions, Crafts, and Science Lab.
How can I prepare and help them prepare for the event? Read these scriptures to your child(ren)f: Day 1 – Ephesians 6:10-14 Day 2 – Ephesians 6:15 Day 3 – Ephesians 6:16-18
Logistics How do I drop off my child(ren)? On the first day, you can check your child in at our church welcome center, located in the foyer of the main auditorium. Our registration is organized by alphabet. You will find the group assignment and collect your welcome packet.
On days two and three you head straight to the auditorium and check them in with their group leader. Please plan to come a little early to day 1 where you will check in at our welcome center, located in the church foyer, and get checked-in a little before 9:00 as there will be as many as 160 attendees to get checked in.
Can I stay and observe? You are welcome to stay and observe but in order to do so, you must have a criminal background check completed through our church office. Once that has cleared, you are welcome to stay. This is to protect our children and to comply with our church policies.
Do I need to come inside to collect my child(ren)? Yes. We will never release children to the parking lot. On the first day, you will be given a check out ticket. Anyone who wants to check your child out at the end of the day needs to present that checkout ticket to their group leader. We must match up the person picking them up to the name tag that the child will wear. You may also be asked to see an ID. This is a security precaution.
Should I expect papers/projects to come home every day? It is our plan to send the majority of their crafts and papers home on Friday. If you will not be in attendance on Friday, please let us know and we can send them home early.
What can I expect on Friday Evening? Friday night is our special way to celebrate a fun VBS and wrap up all that we have learned. Plan to come and see your child(ren) perform a song and experience a special wrap session. Then, we will be serving a pizza supper and enjoy a carnival celebration in the parking area. This is not a drop and go event, please bring the whole family and enjoy!
